Having no SL I havn‘t used the combination.

Though you can be sure that it won‘t hit the sensor. Together with the M-to-SL adapter the rear element has exactly the same distance from the sensor as it had to the film of an M3 for which the lens was designed - and it didn‘t hit the film of an M3…

Anyway there is a shutter in front of the sensor which would be hit first. I am not completely but rather sure that it neither will hit the shutter, otherwise many other M-lenses would hit it.

The diameter of the rear element with its housing might be the much more relevant problem, though I think the SL having a much larger bayonet than the M will cause no issues.

You should be aware of colour shifts to magenta and/or cyan in the edges and perhaps some „smearing“ in the corners as the Super-Angulon is the most problematic lens for digital sensors.

Thx UliWer,

I am waiting for the lens to arrive ... and then I will know for sure.  I only want to use it on Leica SL2 to check it ... optically. I don't want to be surprised with a roll of developed film and ruined photos. Apparently there are some scratches on the back lens but I bought it anyway with 14 days return window. Usually I don't care - my Summilux  has a horror scratched front lens still makes awesome photos, but this is different back lens.  The Angulon  is for  MDa and would be used just for zone focusing. Might end up on  M2/3 if good. I don't use any metered vintage Leica's anyhow so no issues there.  I have a 21mm f4 Angulon R I  use with SL2 and I love that lens. But with the R-M  adapter  the Angulon R is simply gigantic on Leica MDa and is blocking lower third of the view  of the Zeiss 21 mm Biogon Viewfinder.  I am also complicating - perhaps I don't need the viewfinder  - but this is supposed to be the smallest and kind of weirdest M lens, Schneider-Kreuznach built - hard to resist.  I sent a  request to Leica support as well. It would make sense they finally post the list of supported M and R lenses for the adapters. Yeah ... color shift ... actually something I am interested to test on this lens when shot digitally  but I don't have the digital M - we will see on SL2.

And in the meantime I found the answer - and it is a clear - no- no on SL2. Pitty ...

Sorry, I have forgotten the answers in the older thread.

Not a problem / you drove me into the right direction to check possible lateral problems and I found the post. It is definitely not supported.  I also found the official Leica list which Leica M lenses are supported by the Leica M-Adapter L.
