For those who use PD straps, are there any issues with their connectors on the SL3 given that the camera's lugs aren't rings, and work best with a wide strap connector?

no, I used this for many years, no issues; good combination!

I use the wide version of that strap and traveled around Italy with that camera and the 24-90, I'm ~70 yo and found it very comfortable carrying it all day. at my side. The only concern I had was the thin-ish rope-string thing attached to the camera. Held up well though. I bought a few spares that I amy or may not change out in a year or 2, 3, 5, 10... Very nice strap though.

I have used PD straps effectively and without problems on my SL2, switching recently to the PGYTECH shoulder strap, which is similar in design and attachment, but with a wider and more comfortable shoulder pad area. The SL3 should work the same.

Since I typically use the long and heavy SL 24-90, I attach one connector to a strap lug, and the other to the provided small base plate (included with both strap systems).  In this way, the lens points down and hugs the hip or back when carrying either over the shoulder or cross body.  This makes carry more steady and comfortable, and without lens protrusion.
