I have 2 batteries with my q3 and in europe i never experienced any problem . I can easily shoot 200 images  . This month i took my q3 to the tropics ( Maleisië, 35 degrees celsius) and here  i have daily  an empty battery also when i shoot only 35 pictures. I bought the batteries brand new . I did no other way of shooting Anyone has the same experience ?

Are you sure not something is working in the background which is draining the battery? Bluetooth, fotos? Maybe it is trying to connect with sth which is not available in Maleisie?

Yes i am sure, thats all off

Normal (below 50°C) heat should not influence the battery life and if the battery can be fully charged

I am not sure what voltage you had there, but if it was 110V then this is probably the problem.

For many years and many years ago i had serious problems to charge whatever kind of batteries when i was in the tropics as i needed to use a 110-220V transformer but it became much better when the first dual voltage 110-220V chargers came on the market.

However i have still the impression that my Q2 charger charged the Battery less than here with 220V.

I bought the NiteCore USB charger for the Q2/3 and SL2  for the reason to be able to charge the battery in absence of 110/220V and/or use a normal 110/220V charger for my MacBooks and iPhone. In case i would have your problem i would buy a local 110V USB charger to see if that helps.

Are you charging in-camera or in a mains powered battery charger? As Chris says, the battery charger should be able to use 110V, but it might be worth charging the battery directly in the camera via USB-C.

I checkt but the powersupply here is 230 v. The batterysign in de camera indicates the battery is full after charging . Strange thing is that the first 20 % is behaves normal but after that it goes quickly down. Normally you see that with an old battery but that can  in this case not be the issue. Is it possible that de xrays at the airport damage the battery....never had that before

I've never heard of X-rays damaging batteries.
I have no other suggestions!🤷‍♂️

Ok, then lets go a bit more in depth: how old are the batteries?

I also would exclude that the x-ray scanner on the airport damaged the batteries,
never heard of that not did i ever experienced something like that with many different batteries.

I would rather expect that the charger got damaged for whatever - other than x-rays - reason and does not measure correctly the state of charge or overcharged the batteries and damaged them.

Please charge the batteries inside the camera as PhotoHero already suggested, that would show if the Leica BP-SLC4 charger is the culprit.

It is not clear to me when he bought them brand new and as Smogg wrote, what brand of batteries and charger.

Yes a overheating charger may be a problem, but then the charger should not show a full charged state.

@jjroroek
What charger and what brand batteries
Where and when did you bought the batteries?
How do you know that charger thinks that batteries are full? What LED's are on?
Have you tried to charge the batterie/s in the camera

Please answer this questions as exactly as possible as they matter to help you with your problem.

Logically you'd expect the opposite from hot weather, but what do I know?

I had my Q2 on many places including twice for 6 months in Cost Rica on the beach where it's hot, same the Q and then the Q2 in my Caravan travelling souther Europe for 6 months and i never had problems like OP has. I had my Nikon D800 and my buddies Canon D5 plus many other electronic gear in Oman and there it was hot like hell.

Original batteries( i thought its only possible to use original batteries)  now about one year old and original charger. Charging in an ac room. Charger indicates batteries are full because de two lights are on without blinking. Also the camera indicates a full batterie

Ooooh, i'm ashamed, i think ( hope)  i found the problem. Without knowing why i did it,  i changed in the menu , before going on holiday, the setting of the automatic review from 1 second to ' permanent' . In my opinion that could be a cause especially if you only shoot several picture and keep de camera on.  I will let you know if the problem is solved now. Thanks to all for thinking with me .

Try to create a profile so that you can always go back to your "standard" settings that you want to have.

Sounds like the likely culprit. All being well you should get many hundreds of shots with one of these batteries if you are not using video or keeping the screen active a lot. I use EVF extended and have never had to use my 2nd battery yet with the Q3.
