JTLeica Posted June 19 Share #81  Posted June 19 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have actually just bought the 18-56, I forgot that it’s not just a 70mm equiv reach but 85 making it really handy. I almost never use a lens like that indoors anyway always outside, and with 2x shutter vs focal length there’s never a sharpness problem. Technique is everything in that regard. And it’s really sharp.  Modern AI noise reduction has given older bodies a new lease of life in my opinion. Makes iso 3200/6400 really quite clean. The new sigma would be fantastic on the CL.

I recently took a trip to the UK and only took the CL + TL18-56. I use it in poor light and higher ISO and simply denoise in LR. Not hard to use, and easy to enjoy. TL3 Posted June 21 Share #83  Posted June 21 I should try the denoise option, I usually switch the 18-56 out for the 23 or 35 TL when I’m taking photos inside a church or museum or somewhere not sunny.  I like the lens a lot, but I was previously avoiding low light with it. dsalamena Posted June 21 Share #84  Posted June 21 Soon we will also have the option of the Sigma 17-40 f/1.4. Looks like a great all around lens, although a bit on the large side

A trip a year ago to the UK the Cl with the 11-23 was used 75% of the time, yes denoise in ACR or with Topaz works well when needed. I also had a 35 Summilux pre asph along, a 5o Summicron and a 90 Elmarit. I really only had one or two images that needed denoise, taken in dim sections of museums. Kuvvy Posted June 22 Share #86  Posted June 22 I got the CL before lockdown. Can’t say when exactly but I may surprise/shock some of you that it’s been used just a handful of times. I’ve got both the 23/2 & 18/2.8 which have been on the camera maybe four times each. I even bought the Sigma 17-50 2.8 six months ago and that’s been used just once. You may all think I’m just a gear nerd, too rich or just mad but I’ve been into photography for fifty years yet since retirement and having more time I actually shoot less often. I agree with all the praise the CL & lenses get but sadly I think I’m going to part ways with them.
