jaapv Posted January 22 Author Share #21  Posted January 22 Advertisement (gone after registration) It is the same for me with the M cameras. . The M8 etc feel better than the film and M10. The CL however works (?) but needs a Thumbie.
Advertisement Posted January 22 Posted January 22 Hi jaapv, Take a look here SL3S size. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Stuart Richardson Posted January 22 Share #22 Â Posted January 22 I have hands on the smaller side and also found it less comfortable than the SL2. I found the SL2 was an improvement over the SL for me, but the design of the SL3 felt chunkier even though it is smaller, and overall just not as pleasant to hold. This, along with the interface changes mean that I did not even entertain switching. The grip and feel were worse, but for me it was primarily not having a black background behind the info text. The white text overlaid on the evf image has poor visibility for me, especially since it is snowy for more than half the year here. It is such a fundamental aspect to the handling of the camera that it really ruined my interest in it. If they were going to change something, I wish they had just added phase detect and a new sensor to the SL2 series body, but otherwise left everything else alone.

At the time I thought it was mostly marketing, until holding it in the hands. The slimmer M10 feels better than the M240. Never held an M8, but with it being even thinner, it makes sense if it feels better. Who knows, perhaps Leica follows their earlier strategy and will make the SL4 a few mm thinner again...

(just kidding) I would not like a too thin Leica as i have rather big hands and a Leica shape without grip is usually uncomfortable for me. But i never use neck straps, just the Leica Grip and a hand strap on the Q2 works fine for me while the D800 had a very ergonomic housing what i could carry for a long time in my hand. The slightly bigger size of the SL3 should fit my hand better, but i need to verify that. Chris   Edited January 22 by PhotoCruiser

The M10 is the same as analog M cameras. Except for the M5 and M6 TTL but the thickness was the same. The official measurement of the M240 included the thumb wheel which caused no end of confusion.
wjdrijfhout Posted January 22 Share #27  Posted January 22 Advertisement (gone after registration) A thin camera does not necessarily have to have a bad grip. In fact, it works the other way around. Less body, more space for (the) grip. I have rather big hands myself and find the TL2 (perhaps the thinnest camera ever?) a delight to hold.
