I don't have a filter on nor a hood. Is that normal? It's as if there's some resistance when I turn to macro mode, towards the end of the turn, which causes the noise. When I turn into macro mode, I hear the sound of escaping air, as if the object is smeared with something. Everything is spinning smoothly, there is just some kind of rustle, there is no such thing in Q3. It looks like I've been given a little more lube than I need. Becaue if others reported it's the same, I would know that this is by design and that there's no point in asking for a replacement and return the camera for a refund. That’s not the way we behave here. @jaapv When I noticed that my MP ALC had a focusing problem a couple of weeks after I picked it up, my dealer ordered me a replacement to an identical spec. It seems to me that the creaking and slight jamming when switching to macro mode is not a malfunction.:It's just that one tube rotates inside the other a little tighter than it should. Other than this mild sound—which is barely noticeable in an environment with 50dB background noise I guess—the lens functions perfectly. The switching process is very smooth. "They tested and compared your camera to the other Q3 43’s they have, and their feedback is that there is no difference – there is a slight resistance when moving the macro ring slowly, which is due to the internal optics shifting forwards. This is a mechanical operation, so some degree of resistance or noise is expected and they would say this falls within factory tolerances."
