fotografr Posted December 27, 2024 Share #1 Posted December 27, 2024 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) Top Photo, December 2024, D-Lux 8 Bottom Photo, same tree, March 2013, MM1, 50mm Summilux asph The tree, and those along the shore line, appear much healthier 13 years ago than they are now. Several along the shore did not make it. The contrast difference is mostly due to fog in the top image. Welcome, dear visitor! stuny Posted December 27, 2024 Share #2 Posted December 27, 2024 Both are exceptional for different reasons - Subtlety vs. clarity & contrast.

I've been planning to shoot it again for a few years and when the fog rolled in I thought it would make a nice image. It's only a couple of miles from my home. If trees are growing in waterlogged conditions, or the ground is too wet, their roots rot & their ability to absorb vital nutrients is compromised. This leads to poor growth and eventually, the trees die.

That would have done it for the trees along the shore.
