Isn’t that on Kings Cross?

Yes.  I was making a joke on the strength of trains normally arriving at Waterloo being diverted to Paddington and trains normally arriving at Paddington being diverted to Euston.  Chances are that Keith's train might actually arrive at a make-believe platform at another terminus (Kings Cross).

Pete.

I really hope you do come along, Ravi, and of course you will be most welcome. 😊

Pete.

PS, will you update your avatar to your Porsche at some stage? 😇

Hi Pete, Sorry but due to an incident with my leg, I am not able to travel or fly for the next two months.

P.S. The E-type is a classic and holds a special place in my heart. Along with the Alvis TE21 (which I restored with my uncle) and Daimler 250 V8 (which we never got around to restoring).  I will one day replace it with a V8 Vantage from AML, but until then, I like this avatar.

The 911 is the most fun car for driving (Wilson knows them far better than I do, as do a few others on this forum), but classic beauties is not how they would be described.

Sorry to hear that, Ravi, but thanks for letting us know and I hope your leg heals quickly and as painlessly as possible.

(You must try to resist kicking your more difficult employees despite how much they (she) might deserve it. ^_^)

Sorry to hear this Ravi. Best wishes for a speedy recovery. Hope you’re still able to enjoy your 911 though! John

To keep everyone up to date, a number of times I've endeavoured to reserve a table at the Garrick Arms using its online booking system but every time I do it defaults to telling me "that we can't book tables at the moment" and to ring the pub.  I've done this and have spoken to the manager who told me that the booking system is "temporarily broken" but that they're not expecting to be unusually busy on Monday and we should have no problem finding places to sit. 🙂

So I look forward to seeing everyone at 11.30-ish on Monday (30th)!

If the Uzbekistanian National Toe-Wrestling team and its supporters happen to choose the Garrick for a shandy or two and take up all the space then we will move to Plan B.  Whatever that is. 🤔  (In the unlikely event that that occurs and I can't toe-wrestle the Uzbekistanians into submission and out of the Garrick then I shall leave information and directions where we've gone etc here.)

Pete.

Heading back to London early afternoon tomorrow but have Van Gogh at the National Gallery then J Sheekey for a pre-theatre dinner then Mark Strong in Oedipus at the Wyndham to complete a “so sorry I can’t make it” humblebrag trio.

Will hopefully at some point be able to join an event/challenge 🤞🏻

Sorry you won't be able to join us, Nigel, you would have been most welcome and I look forward to meeting you at a get-together in the future. 🙂  I don't think we can compete with Van Gogh, Oedipus et alia. :D

Hi Pete,

I had hoped to get along today, but things have conspired against me!  I hope you and the others have a good time, and I'll try to get down to another meet later in the year.

Say hello to all there for me,

Susie

My thanks to everyone who managed to come along and I hope you all had as pleasant a day as I did!  Please add your pictures to the thread make other forum members insanely jealous (or sweep their brows and utter "Phew!" that they missed it.)

Thank you to jcraf for finding us an interesting and tasty restaurant despite the massive January-sales crowds in WC2!

Pete.
