quiet.seattle Posted November 28, 2024 Share #1 Posted November 28, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) I've had the Q3 43 for less than a week, trading in my Q2 and SL2-S. I'm still learning its idiosyncrasies. While I use the evf to focus 80 percent of the time, I do find myself relying on (and enjoying) the touch auto focus on the lcd at times as I walk the streets. However, when I have the feature enabled on the Q3 43, I find my nose activates the touch when my eye is to the evf. This didn't happen on the Q2 or SL2-S, I imagine, because the screen is flush to the camera body. Is there a work around that will enable me to use the evf and lcd touch focus simultaneously or do I get a nose job? Thank you.

Cogito Posted November 28, 2024 Share #2 Posted November 28, 2024 are you looking through EVF with your left eye? to me this is one of the advantages of a right eye user with a rangefinder style EVF.

Yes, I've always used my left eye in the evf. Perhaps I'll try using the right eye.

Set to EVF Extended and activate the LCD by slightly tilting the LCD when you need it.

aficionados Posted November 29, 2024 Share #6 Posted November 29, 2024 I shoot with my right eye aiming at the target, for both photography and handguns and rifles. No problem at all.
Kyuss Posted December 1, 2024 Share #7 Posted December 1, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) there is literally an option in the focusing menue to avoid nose jobs, where you can deactivate the touchscreen while you are using the EVF. Menue => Focusing => Touch AF in EVF => Off hope that helped
