Olaf_ZG Posted November 21, 2024 Share #1 Posted November 21, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) Within about six weeks, a new year will start, and for sure some of us might want to start a new habit. Maybe some of us want to do (another) 365 (or 52) project. I thought it was nice to see who wants to play, with what and how, and then ofcourse track the images throughout 2025… Anyone wants to play? Advertisement Posted November 21, 2024 Posted November 21, 2024 Hi Olaf_ZG, Take a look here Project 365/52…. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
pippy Posted November 22, 2024 Share #2 Posted November 22, 2024 Such projects can be fun. By 365 / 52 do you mean post one pic each day / one pic each week? It might be difficult - for numerous reasons - for some members to be able to post one interesting pic per day but one per week should usually be possible. A couple of years ago one forumite (Dennis) started a thread where members were asked to post pics on the theme of One Month; One Lens; One Aperture. It was an interesting challenge but, unfortunately, took place at a time where COVID 19 restrictions hampered photo-taking opportunities somewhat. A One Pic Per Week nowadays could be interesting. Viv Posted November 22, 2024 Share #3 Posted November 22, 2024 I'm game to make one photo per week.
Topsy Posted November 22, 2024 Share #4 Posted November 22, 2024 I do a 52 (a shot per week) as part of my weekly Dartmoor Photowalk which I also Blog on ePHOTOzine ( https://www.ephotozine.com/user/topsyrm-149719/blog ) but it isn't always (or even usually) on my Leicas but I'd be happy to join in if other camera makes are allowed, I also use film. 1

I was thinking that each chooses his/her own pace. Those who want daily, do daily, and the weekly ones do weekly. Furthermore, the frequency is about taking the image, not posting. So, at the beginning one set his/her pace, and one more step if desired if a theme like @Topsy has is available. And then we show our work here in this thread. Regarding other brands, this is not up to me to decide.

pippy Posted December 28, 2024 Share #10 Posted December 28, 2024 (edited) Yes; I'm happy to attempt the posting of one halfway decent snap per week. As work can frequently get in the way of 'Personal Snapping' things might not always work out as well as could be hoped but I suppose Time Will Tell... Any rules which should be kept in mind / respected? I'd guess that all photographs posted must have used at least either a Leica body or a Leica lens to qualify for inclusion in the forum? Should photographs be posted on any particular week-day such as, perhaps, every Sunday or simply (which might be far more practicable) as time allows? Philip. lykaman Posted December 28, 2024 Share #11 Posted December 28, 2024 (edited) I join in on another Forum doing the same thing. A single image each week.. I’m happy to use the same image here if that’s ok? (Leica body or lens as per the rules).. 🍻 Edited December 28, 2024 by lykaman
Olaf_ZG Posted December 29, 2024 Author Share #12 Posted December 29, 2024 @pippy: I suggest posting when it suits, the challenge is about making an image weekly (looks like every body goes for weekly), instead of posting. Daily would be too much for me as well, especially cause I would like my part to be consistent in the sense of a theme. Just don’t have one yet (and posed portraits I don’t want to do, cause this is already a regular thing for me).
huwm Posted January 1 Share #13 Posted January 1 tried daily on the 'gram' for ages and have lapsed to few a week it's quite fun and I intend carrying on I was printing them 6*5 also for awhile which was an excellent way of keeping the print heads clean, otherwise rarely print these days, which I think I'll start doing again here's one for today absolutely typical Swansea, 100% chance of rain all day, will maybe need the kayaks soon to get to the studio 😅 not going any further from the house today Welcome, dear visitor! Olaf_ZG Posted January 1 Author Share #14 Posted January 1 @pippy @Viv @Topsy @NaAn @JoshuaR @lykaman just a heads up as the new year has been started.
Olaf_ZG Posted January 1 Author Share #15 Posted January 1 In the end I decided for a project 52, as daily would be too much to complete. The theme will be ICM (in camera movement), but not solely sooc, so it might take a while to finish an image. So instead of shooting weekly, my aim is to create one image per week.

I'm afraid the Leica only rule will prevent me from joining in every week though as I said before I will have work every week just not always (or even nearly always) on a Leica. That said, if it is ok I will jump in and out when I do shoot with my Leicas (M9s or D-Lux Typ109). I was out yesterday but the weather was so rough there was no way I'd risk my M9s in it so I shot on my old Fuji X-T2s, those shots will be in my Blog on ePhotozine if anyone is interested in non Leica photos. Good liuck to all who will contribute and I will continue fto folloow the thread in interest contributing when I have Leica shots for that week.

Olaf_ZG Posted January 2 Author Share #18 Posted January 2 8 hours ago, pippy said: Call me Thick but I have absolutely no idea what the above sentence means... Could you explain? Thanks in advance. Philip. ICM is the word for on purpose movement with your camera while making images, resulting in more abstract stuff, and often taken with longer shutter speeds. Though straight out of camera (sooc) images might be good, after post processing it could be even better. The post processing is - to me - totally different than my normal processing, and therefore might take much longer. Normally, when I take a photo, I know what the end result should look like, so the processing is rather simple and standard with me. With ICM things are more complicated.

My plan for this year is to try to produce a fifty-two page book of landscapes, or other 'scenic' photographs, taken in my town, one each week. So, that's my assignment—I'll post as I go . . . . 3

No need to unpack the ASPH APO FLE lenses then? I have just resorted to using google and can honestly say that I've never, in all my life, shot any images such as those I've seen. Well; not intentionally nor whilst sober at any rate... Might be interesting to try. Time, I suppose, Will Tell. Philip.
