So . . . how many people have ordered without knowing what they have ordered?  M11 or M11P, oh it really doesn't matter as long as it has glossy black paint.  Leica Land is surely the strangest place.

Like every strange place with geeks and nerds. 😂

Yes, I am know the history of the base plate. I have two M film cameras and an M10-R. I did not have a problem when they dropped it for the M11. My post was more sarcastic than anything. The next complaint will be that the battery does not match the base plate.

I agree. The battery base plate not matching would set off my OCD terribly 😂 I'm guessing the camera will come with one matching battery, then the extras will just not match 🤢

Glossy batteries $500; carrying pouch separate for $150.

Leica does not discriminate on buying history. However a good relationship with your local Leica dealer can be helpful. Normally limited editions are available through authorized dealers as well as through  Leica stores. Normally pre-order lists are adhered to scrupulously.

On the Leica UK website now.  It refers to 'special edition' but no mention of limited numbers, so I guess it falls into the same category as other special editions - make as many as you can sell.  I must say the lens looks nice and would go well with my M10R BP, but I already have the reissued f1.2.
