I'm retired.

When I need a break from the cork sniffers on the Leica forums I hang out on the Medium Format forums.

When I need a break from the cork sniffers on the Medium Format forums I hang out on the Large Format forums.

When I need a break from the cork sniffers on the Large Format forums I hang out on the Astrophotography forums.

When I need a break from the cork sniffers on the Astrophotography forums I hang out on the Marshall Amp forums.

When I need a break from the cork sniffers on the Marshall Amp forums I hang out on the Studio Audio Production forums.

When I need a break from the cork sniffers on the Studio Audio Production forums I hang out on the Miata forums.

When I need a break from the cork sniffers on the Miata forums, I'll go back and give the Leica forums another try.

These folks are all more like each other than they know (or would ever suspect).

When I've had my fill of it all for a while, I make terrestrial pictures in various formats both analog and digital, or gather photons from DSOs (Deep Space Objects) such as galaxies, or record music, or take a nice drive on a twisty country road with the top down.

A few nights ago I had a glorious evening gathering subexposures of IC 342 for nearly four hours, which involved shooting through our galactic equator at a wonderful target that's frequently overlooked because it's hidden behind a dense curtain of stars in our own galaxy.

No cork sniffers out that night.

What was the question?

Another question… having just sold off my complete m system… can I still be on the m-sub forum?

Don't worry, you've sold a Rolls Royce and bought a Ferrari.

You'll make new friends!

We take photos and then download them on our computers/tablets/phones without freezing..

Whenever I decide ok, I’m selling the M10-R and go for the M11xyz a topic like this pops up reminding me that maybe skipping the M11 is a good idea. 😅

  • 2 weeks later...

Having sold recently my M, I feel a bit lost coming back to the M sub forums… I aint going to buy another one, though the m9(m) series remains tempting, and lenses are of no use as I sold my m2l adapter…

GAS has vanished which is good.

The Q and SL set I have cover all my needs (except a 70-90 portrait lens). Coming back doesn’t make sense, except for the nice image you all show here…

Buy a film M, Olaf, and shoot B&W - you can get your M fix without feeling pressure to upgrade, or angst because one particular digital function isn't working as expected. M2, M3 or M4 should do it.
