As someone who resisted M11 for a while, I can assume that folks who are on the fence and secretly want to be convinced not to get something tend to find this kind of stuff and post it.  Although I never did and simply voiced my original concerns from actually going to a Leica store on launch day and handling the camera and taking home an SD card full of my own shots.  It’s like @Jeff S who at some point held an S in his hands and now can be always relied on to offer an opinion on it.:). I’ll take it over any repost of any rumor any day.

I took a new-ish M11-D to the Netherlands and used it for a few hundred exposures on two days with absolutely no problems.  I keep it powered on all day, and since I was running a 24mm Elmarit, I added a Visoflex II for careful framing.  This combination is noticeably slower to wake from the 30 second blackout than is either M11 or M11-P.  But no freezes.  Firmware 2.1.3.

Yes, maybe. English is not my main language. The title of the video is:

"New Leica M11-D already broken"

And the text is:

“When I was working on a video for my new Leica M11-D this evening, it got stuck on me. I doubt I've gotten 30 shots on it so far, and yes, I've pulled the battery out and put it back in several times. I have tried everything. It won't turn on! The battery is at 75%. I checked it on my M11-P so it's not the battery. Come on Leica... get your act together! #leica #leicacamera #leicam11D"

“Sorry if some misunderstand”

Sorry if some people misunderstand it. I didn't want to make a fuss, I'm close to buying an M11-D or a Q343 myself, but I'm honestly not sure if I should jump on the M11 series or wait for the M12.

Maybe or maybe not. I'm not in the situation where I can just do both.

Thanks for the post hdmesa📷☺️

I understood what you meant to say (English is not my first language either) and you have a right to make a "fuss" or express your view for such an expensive item. Don't worry about it 🙂

This sort of thread title should start with "Youtuber reports that.............". Then we can all ignore it.
A title that is just a bald statement, as if it were first hand fact, will inevitably spark controversy.

Have you tried turning connectivity off (12 second press of rear wheel) to see if that speeds up wake from sleep?

💯 For someone who worked in the media, proper attribution and qualification is key.  “A random YouTuber makes claims without reporting whether he charged the battery or anything else”.

I would also say this YouTuber seemed to have been helped very nicely in getting a replacement M11-D as soon as possible, and if I'm getting that kind of service (which I would also expect to get) I definitely would not be complaining about it loudly to the world in two videos. But then again, I'm not a YouTuber.

I agree - my M11 is absolutely fine.

Yup, me too. I perseverated about buying one, looking for faults to be afraid of. My camera hasn't locked, frozen or anything. It's honestly the nicest camera I've bought. Really happy with it. I'm not sure I understand the complaints about color shifts because what I see on the screen is what I photographed provided I did my part by exposing correctly.

I think there are YouTubers making unsubstantiated claims, or making comments on others' videos solely to stir controversy and generate clicks. Take everything with a liberal grain of salt on the interweb.

No apparent difference, and the M11-D is not That slow to get going.
