@Kim Dahl  What an odd title to this thread.

He does not speak of any freeze. It's just a tutorial.

Do you speak of your own experience?

No, the title fits fine. Start the video from  minute 6...

I’ve noticed this strange trend on YouTube lately where a controversial quick few seconds is tagged on at the end after you think the video is over. Not sure what that’s about, but it seems like some sort of new technique to increase views because people that watched and stopped close to the end rewatch to find the part everyone is mentioning in the comments.

I think this video is done ok.

But as you can see the camera was not ok.

"It locked up completely"

I'm sure he'll get a new one - but that must not happen. And together with the other errors with M, it suggests that there is no control yet.

Leica M11D is a brand new camera !!

I'm thinking maybe it looks like there's a problem for Leica getting their camera quality tested before they're sent out. So it's not good.

I'm a Leica geek with a big Geek. But it worries me that they cannot control the quality control.

Sure, ( cross fingers...), that didn't take too long to sort it out did it now?

All three of my M11's have been fine from the start. Two of them I have had for a year. No crossing of fingers. Some people had problems, I was not one of them.

The world is getting overflow of information and I will wait for more users / owners’ verification at the end before believe in it.

It won't be long before a YouTuber is caught trying to get views by saying they had freezes or bricking just to drive up views.

It looked like a genuine issue to me. All electronics are at risk of dying during the burn in period. I’d rather that than at 2 years and one month! At least in the first 2 weeks on a remote sale there’s no argument about a direct replacement in the UK. Well I say that but Leica did try to haggle with me at one point but not for long!

I try in the shop, reach a deal, purchase via the phone from my car before driving home and get them to post it on next day delivery. Maximum air cover!

Having an M11 lock up would be frustrating, but having an M11 with no rear screen or any indication its actually turned that locks up is a "I want a full refund please"

I have been tossing up on getting a M11. My only one reason so far is the amount of complaints from people that their cameras are locking up. I know its become cliche', but a camera of this calibre and price should work flawlessly, ,more so the newer M11 editions. Surely by now, Leica would have decided to correct the issues so they don't become reality in the newer releases.

I would be cheeky to mention that the M12 if and when it is released will also suffer these issues.

I tire of this statement about M11 problems.. since we have no info on sales or real data’s on actual real freezing camera it might be a nothing.

I for one have no significant issues with my M11 and frankly every camera i ever own had quirks of its own. Even Rolls Royce come with a warranty… but why they are perfect right?

Here @Kim Dahl just posts something in order to post something without ever informing or knowing how serious the source is. That to me is a strange behaviour. I wonder why he is posting this sensational title at all. There are enough users here who could post their own experience that we could then discuss. When you read this title here you expect something fully different. Why spread the impression that all M cameras are freezing?

Just as an information: My M11 never freezes. And my M11-D does not either.
