Good evening All

My new Q3 43 arrived today. I am feeling worried about the little continious sound you can hear when everything else is silent and the Camera is ON.

I am not talking about the sound that a shake gives when the camera is set off. I know thats from the stabilisor

But when set to ON  my Camera does make a very subtle but continouus sound.

My Ms  do not do this .... nor does the ZF

Can anyone explain it?

I think I know what you're talking about, I get the same noise from both my Q3 28 and Q3 43. I don't think this is OIS, as it continues even when OIS is disabled. It's not autofocus either as switching to non-continuous AF or MF doesn't eliminate the noise.

To me this sounds more like general electronic noise that you get from lower quality components, especially capacitors. I don't have this on any other camera I own, but have similar noises from cheaper electronics. It's a shame that this is the case with such an expensive item.

I initially thought that the issue was to do with my Q3 28 as it was a launch model from Germany. However, since my Q3 43 has nearly the exact same noise profile, I suspect this is something that all Q3s have. You just need good hearing (the noise is higher frequency) and a quiet room to notice it. It's just a minor annoyance, but as mentioned a bit disappointing considering the price. Leica (probably Panasonic actually) should do better :)

The best solution is a weeklong heavy metal treatment of your ears at sound level 11. :)🤣

after your reaction i took my camera and put it to my ear . and yes i heard a very  very soft en very high noise in the camera.  to my surprise the camera was off . The noise dissapeared when i took the battery off  and also when i put the camera on. After  i put the battery back in de camera the noise was also gone. I guess is has to do that the electronics are not directly totally of when you shutt down the camera
