Advertisement Posted December 25, 2024 Posted December 25, 2024 Hi Brokn, Take a look here What bag to carry the Q3 43 in?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
40mm f/2 Posted December 25, 2024 Share #42  Posted December 25, 2024 I like the peak design 3L too. The main reason is that the straps are articulated and parallel to the back of the bag and not perpendicular to allow it to ride close on the body especially when wearing it cross body and not act as a pendulum especially when leaning forward like most shoulder bags do and then bumping into things, especially the ones one tries to take a picture of. I have also the 6L version but I find it to be too wide to be comfortable (maybe it would fit someone which much larger girth). I am concerned with weather resistance, it was o.k. With light rain but I would not use it in a downpour. for a large sling bag I like https://instinctbackpack.com/en-us/collections/all/products/x_pac_pro_camera_sling_bag It survived an extreme downpour, is light but also very robust  (Hightech X-Pac material) and has much better access to the cameras. It has 2 different attachment point on each side giving a lot of options how to wear it.
Rich1 Posted December 26, 2024 Share #43  Posted December 26, 2024 Billingham 72 is a perfect tight fit as long as you don’t decorate the camera with a hand grip
Dr. G Posted December 26, 2024 Share #44  Posted December 26, 2024 I’m photographing an event in the Caribbean in a few weeks and planned on taking my SL3 with the 21 and 75 APO as well as the Q3 43.  I’m rethinking this and may just go with the Q3 and Q3 43 to save some space and weight.  Anyone have a suggestion for a bag that can carry both plus a few extra batteries, filters, etc? I suggest the Clever Supply Camera Sling. It can easily hold 2 Q cameras plus batteries and filters. You could also fit a cellphone or small tablet.

There is a belt loop, but the bulk makes it uncomfortable to carry like that, and, for me the loop is in slightly the wrong place which makes everything harder.  So the camera is stored in the Billingham and I’m still looking for some way to carry it for a day of casual photography.  The holster looks like it might have been ideal, but I can’t find one and, unusually, no-one seems to make an imitation.  If anyone knows better, I’ll be very pleased to hear. best wishes AlanJ

I always carry a spare battery, and in the leica pouch I have a plastic bag in case a downpour might be really to strong. Not carrying the camera in a bag, I use it more often, as it is intended to be.

ggweci Posted December 27, 2024 Share #49 Â Posted December 27, 2024 Carry my Q2 in a Bellroy Venture 6L sling. Â Fits nicely and can carry keys, wallet, extra battery, AirPods, etc. https://bellroy.com/products/venture-sling-6l?color=black&material=baida_nylon&size=6l#slide-0 Also have a Peak Design sling for carrying it with a flash or another camera. Â Offers more padding than the Bellroy, but is bulkier as well.
errlala Posted December 28, 2024 Share #50  Posted December 28, 2024 Peak design sling or wotancraft but it’s still a hassle to take the camera in and out of the bag when you wanna capture the moment quickly but still need your hands free to tend to other matters - like over active toddlers  I find the Spider holster lite waist belt works perfectly with the Q3 and is a lot easier than wearing the camera on the neck or shoulder strap
Cogito Posted December 28, 2024 Share #51  Posted December 28, 2024 The Q343 is the camera I use when I want HQ photos but don’t want to schlep camera gear. No need for extra lenses, batteries, chargers, SD cards, or anything, just put an ND filter in my pocket and go. I flew last week LA-DC and put the Leica in my carry-on inside a neoprene pouch (OP/Tech rangefinder size) so I guess that’s my bag recommendation. Welcome, dear visitor! Denebola Posted December 28, 2024 Share #52 Â Posted December 28, 2024 (edited) After the Wotancraft, which I consider the best manufacturer, I have too the PD 3L, which is very good, but may contain the camera and very few other things. Using it I have to carry too something else for other small items. I found another sling which I consider better, in order to have free hands and movement, quite easy to have the camera handyb when needed: the Think Tank Turnstyle, which stays on my back and it's easy to slide in front when needed (there are 3 sizes of it, btw; I have the biggest). This too is very well made (as all the Think Tank products, even if Wotancraft IMHO is still superior in material and engineering). Another possibility... I use one of as well, when a bag isn't wanted/need.  Great option to provide some protection when out and about - the the camera is in use, the neoprene case folds up into a pocket fairly well.  Or better yet, my wife's purse when we're out together. anonymoose Posted December 30, 2024 Share #56 Â Posted December 30, 2024 Took the Nomatic McKinnon 5L sling out for a spin today and it works pretty well. I have the 8L for when I'm carrying two cameras and I've liked it, so figured I'd try the smaller one for when I'm only carrying one camera (Q2). satijntje Posted December 31, 2024 Share #57  Posted December 31, 2024 I have more photobags then my wife has handbags 😂 but my favourite bag for my Q3-43 is for sure the little Oberwerth Q-bag. Welcome, dear visitor! LocalHero1953 Posted December 31, 2024 Share #58 Â Posted December 31, 2024 I don't like zips (too slow and I don't like the hard edge), nor buckles with metal bits that flop near the opening, which rules out a high percentage of mainstream brand bags. And leather, if thick enough, is inherently heavy - OK for small bags, but not big ones. If and when my Foggs wear out (they just have flaps fastened with hooked leather straps, and shoulder straps that go under the bag with no metal attachment), I would look for something like the Oberwerths with their push-pull fasteners, which are quick to open and close, and keep away from the bag opening. I have a leather bag made locally to my own design (sized for M plus second lens)Â which uses the same fasteners; I am surprised more makers don't use them. OTOH I'm not a fan of Oberwerth's aesthetics. OK, I know I'm picky, but I think we all are when it comes to camera bags. Which is why we keep buying more, in a quest for perfection. Similar thoughts.  But I didn’t like the Oberwerth fasteners, nor the large and stiff Porto bag in general, which I initially bought to store the SL2 plus 2 big zooms. I traded it for the Billingham One, which served much better.  Fortunately I bought a new Fogg b-laika, just before bee passed away, to supplement my other decades old small Foggs, just in case they ever need replacement. If Fogg bags became unavailable, I think I would just go Billingham. I've never seen Oberwerth bags for real, but they look too stiff and boxy to me. I don't doubt they are otherwise of excellent design and manufacturing quality. Edited December 31, 2024 by LocalHero1953
