My worry about the Voigtlander 75mm 1.9 Ultron is the 0.5m focusing distance. I use the rangefinder for focusing and worry that if I were to shoot at 0.7m according to the finder, I may have it set to less than 0.5m on the lens. Have you come across this situation?

I haven't used the lens, but if you have your lens set to 0.5m, won't the image in the viewfinder focusing patch be misaligned, and therefore inform you that it's not correct? At least with some of the newer M lenses (35 Lux, 28 Cron) with MFD less than 0.7m, there is a visible feel in the lens focusing resistance when you go below 0.7m, prompting you to use the LV for focusing instead.

+1. I haven't used the CV 75/1.9 yet either but there is no such feel on my CV 21/4 and 35/1.5 with 0.5m MFD. Been the same for many years with the S-A 21/3.4 (0.4m) among others. It is so easy to see when the RF patch stops moving that i'm not sure where the problem is exactly.

I know what you mean, but it’s not an issue in practice. Firstly if you follow the Leica recommendations on focus you will come from infinity to the focus point and stop there. Going backwards and forwards to get focus is poor practice. Secondly if you do go past 0.7m is very obvious the lens is moving but not the patch. In any case with close focus saloon DOF  it’s easier to move slightly back and forth to catch focus than move the lens.
