Just to clarify, these two “camera” images were made with the Leica Q3 43. I was trying to show the blurred background at f2.  That’s a Q (typ 116) in the photo.

Honestly I prefer this picture  of an M whatever model it might be  and Q (2 or 3?) 28mm in the background (not 43!) to show the qualities of the Q3 43 Summicron over the typical boring  cat/dog picture...

Thank you very much for your generous feedback, Marc @benqui! It was one of those moments where everything falls nicely together. There was no preparation, a dull grey afternoon, no proper background, but the right man to be portrayed - and a very nice camera in my hands. I took some shots with the Lumix S5 first, which also came out very good, but during our little chat I switched to the Q3 43 and added two more shots. I‘m glad I did so 🙂

absooutely love this capture. What lens was it again?

Edit: Never mind, I got the image from the images section, just realized it's on the Q3 43 thread.  Beautiful.

It's best when disputes end with peaceful reconciliation.  At first I thought these guys knew each other and were playing around, but not so.  This sequence of events unfolded out of the blue in seconds, and the Q3 43 was up to the task.  I think if I had been using a M camera I would not have been able to nail focus (ok, the camera focused on the young man's shoulder on that last frame, but that was split second stuff).  This frame is f/2.0, so I would have swung the camera onto the nose of one of the men to patch focus, then re-composed, but by then the moment would have been gone.

Quite a bit of excitement for my first day out with the Q3 43.

Probably  a scenario where the 28 mm would have been even better.  Good job though.

43mm no crop

Enjoying the afternoon with the Griffins and a pipe while I make custom camera profiles for the Q3/43.
