And here is her boss with whom I had a nice conversation about photography and travels:

I love to photograph people up close, the SL summilux is great for this, but I don’t carry it around: it is for agreed portraits.

not sure how much you processed this image, but I like what I see. Guess for me, the new Q is a great every day carry and therefore opportunity to ask anyone for a portrait.

Thank you for your kind comment, much appreciated, @Olaf_ZG. The posted picture was only put through a quick adjustment in Lightroom mobile. I used the Adobe BW flat preset, reduced contrast, increased exposure and lifted the shadows a little bit. I cropped away just a small piece as there was a lighter strip on the right side that was distracting. The whole procedure took a minute and another one to post in this thread 😀

I‘m on my knees know and praying to the god of mtf charts, barrel distortion, firmware updates  and keeper of the half-case 😇

I haven’t had much time with the new Q. Did you use eye focus with AF-C or AF-S? From my limited time with it, I found that AF-C is a bit useless for moving subjects, but AF-S is almost always spot on.

I have read somewhere, that Leica cameras are to be used for flower photography mainly. So I think it is good to put some flowers on the first page of this thread 😎

I've never heard that one before, but nice picture!

A rainy day for a first outing.  More of a test of the IP52 than IQ but it passed both.

Camera arrived yesterday.  I charged batteries overnight, set up my menu and headed out to do "street" photography in downtown Boise.  After a couple hours of meh, I saw a colorful character who goes by "Toofless," and asked if I could take his portrait (above).  As I was photographing him, a young man came from out of nowhere and jumped him.  Not exactly the person I would choose to molest.

if I were inclined to that sort of thing.

The young man apparently quickly realized the folly in his decision, and went into peace making mode, but Toofless would have none of it.

The young man continued to harass Toofless, who was left with few options.

It's best when disputes end with peaceful reconciliation.  At first I thought these guys knew each other and were playing around, but not so.  This sequence of events unfolded out of the blue in seconds, and the Q3 43 was up to the task.  I think if I had been using a M camera I would not have been able to nail focus (ok, the camera focused on the young man's shoulder on that last frame, but that was split second stuff).  This frame is f/2.0, so I would have swung the camera onto the nose of one of the men to patch focus, then re-composed, but by then the moment would have been gone.

Quite a bit of excitement for my first day out with the Q3 43.
