fotografr Posted September 9, 2024 Share #1 Posted September 9, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) I've been working with a writer who is publishing a poetry book about rocks and one of the main photos he wanted was of what is called a "dry stacked stone wall." That's a wall built entirely of stones using no mortar or cementing agent--just rocks. I just returned from searching the part of Wisconsin that borders Lake Michigan where the last glacier pushed huge amounts of stones that were left when it receded. In order to farm the land, the stones had to be removed from the fields so a natural use for them was to make walls and houses. I found several examples in the area around Sheboygan and Plymouth. It's hard to imagine the amount of time and effort that went into building these things. M10M/28 Summicron & 50 Summicron Welcome, dear visitor!
