Same issue under firmware 2.1.2 here. Half press the shutter release is often enough but i may have to pop out not only the battery but the sd card as well. Happens only randomly but i seem to reduce the issue by disabling dust protection and/or removing the "settings.lcse" file out of the card, don't ask me why.

Since the latest firmware update, my camera has been behaving 99.999% perfectly. From my point of view, Leica fixed the terrible issues they had with the release of this firmware. I guess that's

Updated both M11 & M11 Monochrom. All settings are the same, the cameras have not melted yet.

I'm on 2.1.2. and I can switch on the camera, get the stapler sound/momentary orange light, then the back buttons work, the camera is ready to go. No issue with having to half press the shutter release button. Every time, so far. I also have the dust protection permanently off.

This has been one of my tips but i cancelled it for lack of evidence. Now i'm testing the effect of removing the "settings.lcse" file out of the card while keeping dust protection on. Seems to work for now but i shall see.

I wrote Leica customer service and got a pretty detailed response of several steps to take (don't know if it's appropriate to paste here?).    What finally fixed the problem was factory resetting camera settings then re-pairing.   Works like magic now.

Yay! Glad to hear it Chito. Good to see these things being sorted. If it remains reliable I absolutely love the camera. There's more to do of course, esp random over exposure and I'd like a more responsive shutter button for rapid fire shots at a speed which matches the rapid continuous but it's steadily, if belatedly, heading in the right direction.

This "camera starts in sleep mode, an additional half-press of the shutter button is needed to wake it up" issue happens over here (M11-P) with both FW2.1.1 an FW2.1.2  (dust protection off and no settings file on the SD card). The interval between incidents is all over the place; from minutes to nearly a week.

Same on M11 under the current fw 2.1.2. Not sure what is the culprit but dust protection looks like a candidate indeed. I cancelled it in my last tips but i will probably retain it again unless someone has a better idea.

I also thought this was the case but discovered it was me. with live view off I hadn't realized the camera was actually on

I wish it were that simple. Spent a couple hours switching camera off and on and the glitch is still here. Best tip i found is to disable dust protection so far.

Long time ago I had this Pentax K5rII (?) with AF confirmation even with manual lenses. Ganz toll !
