Can someone help me please. I had removed the battery from my Leicaflex SL, and stupidly screwed the battery cover back, obviously too far. Now I can't undo it because it keeps cross threading. It starts off ok but then tightens up and will NOT budge. Is there any way that I can remove the base plate to try and sort this problem or can anyone suggest anything ?

That happened to me once: Took a short length of dowel (about 1/2" dia.) and put a piece of double-sided tape on the end. Stuck it on on the cap and used the dowel to keep it aligned square while rotating an pulling gently to find the thread start. Came off easily.
