The title poses my question succinctly. Only thing I can add is that my experience w the 14312 has only been on the M9 platform cameras and an original Fuji x100. The M9s all come with plastic bumpers above the strap loops in order to protect against scuffing, something that is weirdly missing on the M10 platform cameras. I do recall that the strap scuffed the Fuji pretty bad.

FYI, I would be using these straps on a silver chrome M10P and black chrome M10M.

Also, if they do scuff, is there anything I can apply to the cameras to replicate the bumpers?

Thanks in advance.

I am one of us who think that the 14312 Leica straps are the best ones to use on any M...............Period.

But yes they can, albeit rarely, lead to some abrasion marks on some M bodies, usually the more recent Digital M's. What I do is use a simple leather "collar" on the lugs between the strap links and the camera and that does the trick, like these I use from Dead Camera, ( also use their Slim straps too that are an excellent alternative to the 14312's ).

or these without rings:

Otherwise in the past I have simply placed a piece of camera tape on the curve of the M body where a strap might touch and that works well too, cheap solution too but replace it every month or so so that the adhesive doesn't "bond" to much and leave residue on the metal of the camera, it's removable ok but a bit of a PITA.

I’ve put the 14312 on all my M bodies. On the later models I insert a small flat leather ‘donut’ around each lug before attaching the strap. These provide space so that there is much less likelihood of abrasion.  I acquired the pads from Leica SoHo years ago (from Craig).
