Hey Guys,

Anyone have a good screen protector recommendation for the M11? I have the original Leica one on mine, and it consistently bubbles up like this from the corner and looks unsightly 😆

I'm not too sure I actually need a screen protector on it, but I wouldn't mind having the function of an anti-glare one as seeing the screen sometimes in the sunlight is kinda difficult.

Recommendations appreciated in advance 🙂

I had good success with the official Leica one on my M11 (nothing like in your images) but I've used expert shield for my other cameras and as stated, they are brilliant.  The M11-M is sapphire so I'm going naked with that one.

I hated the Leica one on the Q2M, great though on the M11P and and M11M. Put on as within 1 week of having my M11M with no screen cover, cosseted in a Billingham bag, it had a scratch in the allegedly scratch resistant sapphire glass. So much so that I wonder if it actually is sapphire at all. It had been nowhere near anything I would consider hard enough to scratch sapphire glass.

The M11P conversely I'd had for 6 months with no issue at all and only put the screen cover on after the M11M incident.

That's interesting, damn. My apple watch with sapphire glass gets an absolute beating, dragged along machinery, knocked into door frames, scuffed by zippers etc and it looks as pristine as the day I bought it so I was feeling pretty confident about leaving the M10M naked. I guess not all sapphire = sapphire !

That's interesting. I have a month old M11M that under strong light at an angle looks like a faint scratch. Only in my hand or in a billingham bag. My M11 with a cheap screen protector after 18 months with the same usage had no scratches at all. I'm seeing other reports like this on the M11M only. I did email Leica USA and I got this "While Sapphire glass is far more resistant to significant scratches and impact than regular glass light scratches in the screen’s anti reflective coating may still occur".

Mines actually a scratch, you can feel it with your fingernail. I’m convinced this is not of the same quality as previously. I have a sapphire watch which is endless getting bumped - no scratches and a M11P which is 6 times older - not a mark.

The difficulty is finding a time when I am willing to be without the camera for 3-4 months. So crazy compared to my Canons and Fujis where it would be a week.

Which Expert Shield Model?

I see Glass, Crystal Clear, Anti-Glare and Standard on Amazon.

Anti-Glare seems to have poor reviews.

I prefer Anti-Glare.
The image on it, of course, is not as bright as on the Crystal Clear (I tried it too), but it is free of parasitic reflections. This makes life much easier in sunny weather.

Anyone else care to weigh in on which model Expert Shield

I have the anti-glare on my M11 and really like it. It does what it says on the tin!

I have the standard version on my Q2 and like it too - to the extent that I’m not going to swap it for an anti-glare version.

I doubt you can go wrong with any version.
