HJKrahtz Posted July 11, 2024 Share #1 Posted July 11, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) It was again not possible to remove the Sandisk SD Extreme PRO SDXC UHS-I Card. Sometime ago had the same problem and the camera has to be send to Leica Wetzlar to remove the card. Has someone else the same problems. I think Leica recommends to use SD-Cards from Sandisk. Has anybody experience with another SD Card manufacturer, ie. Lexar. Is this SD-Card problem a typical M10-P problem? Many thanks for explanations and/or recommondations! Advertisement Posted July 11, 2024 Posted July 11, 2024 Hi HJKrahtz, Take a look here Sandisk SD-Card in M10-P not removable, again, second time!. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jankap Posted July 11, 2024 Share #2 Posted July 11, 2024 (edited) Isn't it possible to import your pictures with a USB cable? I let the card in the camera, until it dies. And when it would die, I would make a surgery with a pincer. A battery can blow up itself, that can be difficult. mujk Posted July 11, 2024 Share #3 Posted July 11, 2024 (edited) I don't think this is a common problem, but it's a purely mechanical one. The locking mechanism "grabs" the card by the small slot on the right hand side when the card is pushed in against the spring and releases it when pushed in again. Part of the mechanism can be seen by looking into the card slot. It should be easy to see if the problem is caused by the card by comparing the slot to that of another card. Otherwise I'm afraid the problem is in the camera mechanism. Edited July 11, 2024 by mujk
lct Posted July 11, 2024 Share #4 Posted July 11, 2024 I have used several Sandisk cards like that in 10+ years. No issues on M8.2, M240 and M11 so far. I have no experience with M10 cameras though.
rpsawin Posted July 11, 2024 Share #5 Posted July 11, 2024 The top the forum, at the furtherest right, is a link to various SD cards. If yours is not listed you might consider replacing it with one on the list. Best of luck.
HJKrahtz Posted July 11, 2024 Author Share #6 Posted July 11, 2024 Many thanks for all messages. Tomorrow I go in the local Leica Store to find out what they think/consider to do. Possibly the M10-P must be sent to Wetzlar to check/repair/replace the SD-Card slot (maybe mechanical problems). Since the M10 is thinner than former models the SD-Card slot does not have enough clearance.

HJKrahtz Posted July 14, 2024 Author Share #8 Posted July 14, 2024 (edited) Many thanks for the feedback. One user recommended the Lexar SD Card. Has anybody eventually experience with the Sony SF-G64T SD-Card (64 GB, UHS-II, SD Tough, G Serie)? Edited July 14, 2024 by HJKrahtz

Ewemon Posted July 14, 2024 Share #11 Posted July 14, 2024 I personally used Kingston Canvas React Plus 128gb cards and have never had any problems with them however I also have a Delkin Power 128gb card and it feels slightly tighter in the slot so it may just be down to tolerances.
