Price hikes happened in the USA, too, on the First of July. Lenses and cameras. I received a warning e-mail from Leica Store Miami. I considered acquiring a 21mm SEM or perhaps a Summaron-M 28mm, each of which was scheduled to be marked-up by $100 US, using PayPal Credit to finance at 0% for six months, but, then, decided to hold, and continue using what I already had, on-hand. (I have a Zeiss 21mm f/4.5 ZM and Voigtlander Nokton 21mm f/1.4 VM, each excellent in its own ways, so, do not need to “upgrade,” and, have a threaded-mount Summaron, so, the newer Summaron-M would only provide one advantage, 6-bit coding, which, realistically, seems unnecessary, with a lens having vintage character and maxmum f/5.6 aperture, anyway.)

The only Leica lens I have bought new, rather than pre-owned, is my Re-Edition Steel Rim Summilux-M 35mm, and, it may well retain that status. Anything north of $4K is financially challenging. Doable, but challenging.
