Advertisement Posted June 23, 2024 Posted June 23, 2024 Hi gdb, Take a look here Gimbal for SL line. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jaapv Posted June 24, 2024 Share #2 Posted June 24, 2024 Depends on the use one puts the lens to. They have their use for video work. For stills, another type of gimbal on a tripod, less so as more and more work is done freehand. https://www.digitalcameraworld.com/buying-guides/best-dslr-gimbals The advent of stabilization has limited the use.
lightsourcekauai Posted June 24, 2024 Share #3 Posted June 24, 2024 (edited) I don’t think a gimbal is really necessary for the SL and available lenses. But if you wanted to do multiple row panos then Really Right Stuff has a new version of their gimbal available now, I believe. If you wanted to look at a gimbal for panning and wildlife (again not really necessary imho) maybe try the Pro Media Gear Katana Jr. I have it and it is very good. Lightweight and a strong hold. Very smooth. I used with RF 600 f/4 and EF 300 f/2.8. But I don’t use it with the SL3 + 90-280 APO nor with the Sigma 500 f5.6. It’s currently in my camera drawer not on tripod. I think I nice ball head is enough. Edited June 24, 2024 by lightsourcekauai
