To the 105/1.4 - setting aside the SIZE/WEIGHT or ANCHOR status - I'll add for studio work you should also include the cost of an intercom system to allow for the subject and you to communicate...  Its like the Zeiss APO 135/2 - absolutely awesome rendering -  and if you want/need to show it to your subject you need either running shoes or a broadcasting setup to cover the distance between...     I'll also note that lenses vary - even the big L...  I have NOT had a variety, but I did manage to acquire two separate (CAN) 90/2.8.  I still have both - why - because they DO render differently and my old eyes have yet to figure out which I like better (ask my wife - this is a theme of my collecting of lenses) - point being that - especially for studio portrait work - we "LEARN" our chosen lens and we work to its benefit, not the other way around.  That said - I'm just a weekend hack/overzealous father and would be very happy with any of those posted.

Wonderful portrait @Olaf_ZG Interesting decision to have the sister at the back slightly out of focus, but I think it works, particularly with her hand making a connection on her sister's shoulder. The love hearts are a nice touch too!

This was totally unplanned. I had a deal with their mom, but mom brought the daughters as well for a headshot. Then I thought, a family shot might be nice.

I was already happy that I changed 1.4 to 4.0, but should have done more. Lesson learned.

Also, eye focus drove me crazy. It’s great for one pair of eyes, but for several pair of eyes it’s not, especially as I didn’t manage to control it. Another lesson learned.

Leica’s eye focus leaves a lot to be desired.  You would think it would always default to the closest eye, but it’s inconsistent.  I went back to point focus and taking images in both AF and manual focus with magnification.  Much more predictable results.

Hi everyone!

Need your opinion:

I have 50mm APO SL, but I looked at pictures made with SL 50 LUX and it was gorgeous, absolutely beautiful.

But I know there is a Panasonic and Sigma lens, that everyone on the internet claim very best and etc (there is no bad reviews on YT whatsoever).

How does 50 LUX compares to he APO?

How good it resolute SL3 60mp sensor?

What is the best 50mm SL lens for now in term of IQ?

Thanks in advance

Don’t have a comparison, but the lux is my lens portraits. Anything else, I guess an APO would do.

Old vs new. SL lux vs pre asph (v3). The first on a SL2, the latter on the m8.

The rendering of SL50Lux is simply beautiful. I also love using the lens wide open on landscapes...

"TikTok". From my series Her Social Life. Printed on PhotoRag 308 at 80 x 60 cm.

I'm a 35mm guy. Always was, also for portraits/close-ups. Shot on the SL2-S and the APO 35mm Summicron at f/8 and flash.
