About 20 years younger than Monet, Henri Le Sidaner was a french intimist painter born in 1862. In 1904, he bought a house in Gerberoy, in the countryside close to Normandy. Like Monet in Giverny, he progressively created a superb garden, which will inspire him for the rest of his life.

2. Back of the house and the "white garden" (unfortunately too early in the season for the "full" white)

Thank you, great pictures. Used to live some years very close, but never visited here, only went several times to Giverny. Must add to my list.

Just a wonderful set.

These cosy old country side houses are so romantic and comfortable.
Henri de Sidaner made also some gorgeous paintings of this house.

Thank you, Louis.

You are right, many of his paintings were inspired by his Gerberoy's house and garden.

Thank you. If you are around, the garden is really worth a visit. Unfortunately, we were not very lucky with the grey weather and poor light.

The painter descendants are still living in the house, which is not open to visits?
