wolan Posted June 9, 2024 Share #1 Posted June 9, 2024 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi, I was reconfiguring the mapping of a button on my M11m and I have noticed that now I have the option "Center Frame", which reposition the focus square on center of the frame. Just curious: I simply did not notice it before or is it really a new feature? Edited June 9, 2024 by wolan

Thanks Leica I posted this on another strong, but feel it also relevant to this post. To help control the random movement of the focus aid point, I actually prefer to use the setting under the "Customize Control" menu submenu "Touch Mode" and set this to "Off (LV Mode)" This turns of the touch screen in Live Mode, but allows you to move the magnification focus point with the Directional Pad. I general keep the focus point in the middle of frame, when I focus the camera then zooms in on the focus point, which stays in the center of frame unless I manually move with the directional pad. I then can recompose after focusing is set on the point I want. This has solved my issue with the focus point inadvertently getting moved around through accidentally touching the LCD screen while carrying camera. As a side note, if you are viewing your images in playback on the LCD screen, you can still use the touch screen for zooming in, scrolling, etc. This allows me to save the other customizable function buttons for other settings. For me, I have the "back wheel" set-up for ISO and leave the ISO setting in "M" mode. And I have the back FN button set-up for "Exposure Metering" allowing me quick access to change metering mode. Of course all this does not matter if just using the range finder focusing and not using Live Mode or EVF.
