No problem as long as you don't buy another uncoded lens.

I won't. I only shoot 50 and 35. I'm finished buying lenses. I stopped buying 50's after the summicron. Same with the 35.

Then the only problem will be for the buyer of your gear, if any, or for your heirs if you are an oldie like me 😉

Not really. Nothing wrong with the lens like it's been shown. No reason to believe I am the exception to the same issue.

It's the same as you selling me yours. Chances are it won't be detected either. Not your fault.

I'm see nothing wrong on this flange either so no problem for you as long as you don't buy another uncoded lens. So much the better for Leica whose all new lenses are coded anyway.

All this aside, the photos are lovely and the lens is a joy to use.

Sounds like a trainee wrote this. Professional indeed. I would ask for a more informed reply. In fact, I would just pick up the phone. Leica does bring out firmware updates to add new lenses for finished products.

He replied to my reply. Late but sounds better.

I didnt reply but should say that

1) When that lens is mounted my camera has 0 light leaks.

2) The coding is and looks 100% identical to my 50f2 cron. Just the colors are opposite obviously.

I'll just keep it on Manual since there's really nothing wrong with it and my camera functions perfectly fine. The lens is incredible too. Mechanically is perfect and without flaws. Images coming from it are amazing.

He does not mean that the camera has a light leak but it may be that the flange admits light to the 6-bit sensor. Some of the heavier lenses are known to do so sometimes. Try putting a scrunchy around the joint.
