Advertisement Posted December 11, 2007 Posted December 11, 2007 Hi NZDavid, Take a look here buying a Leica CL: authorized shop or eBay?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
luigi bertolotti Posted December 11, 2007 Share #22 Posted December 11, 2007 Alison, take a look at www.leicashop.at Wien based, 6 CLs at the moment, included a complete 40+90 set (with hoods... ) at a reasonable price. It's a top dealer, serious and expert, ships in 5 days in Europe (I bought many tmies from them) , accepts givebacks.
jothiratnam Posted December 11, 2007 Share #23 Posted December 11, 2007 Hi, might I suggest Fotoprisma in Bologna Italy, very good, fair prices, honest, and w a return policy. They usually have a couple of CL's, and I can recommend them highly, Jothiratnam

Shootist Posted December 11, 2007 Share #25 Posted December 11, 2007 Why not get a M3 or M2 in working condition. Not that much bigger then the CL, better rangefinder (wider) and you can pick up a meter for it fairly easily, Leica MR 4, that is coupled to the shutter speed. dominic Posted December 15, 2007 Share #26 Posted December 15, 2007 I hear that CL meters are often inoperable. Make sure yours works, or pay less for the camera.Good luck John W True. The only way to repair the coil meter is to "cannibalize" one in another body. BTW i wonder if it is legal for "La Maison du Leica" to sell an item without a warranty. Is that shop went a garage sale ? ;-)
lct Posted December 15, 2007 Share #27 Posted December 15, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) ...BTW i wonder if it is legal for "La Maison du Leica" to sell an item without a warranty... No contractual warranty is mandatory in French law, only a legal one in case of inherent vice or non-compliance with specs.

"""""""""""" OK. So "Leica Camera Paris" (aka : la maison du Leica) must admit the legal warranty (one year on used item according to the EU-law), even if they write : no (meaning: commercial) warranty. French people are very difficult :-))

Is that the case? I know that Ffordes in the UK sometimes sell items with a similar warranty. I'd assumed is was when they were selling items for which no spare parts were available. lct Posted December 15, 2007 Share #30 Posted December 15, 2007 ...French people are very difficult :-)) Hehe yes, mainly lawyers (economists are even worst ), but buyers are well protected.
dkCambridgeshire Posted December 15, 2007 Share #31 Posted December 15, 2007 Couple of reasonably priced CL's here complete with lenses ... MW Classic Cameras ... the 50 Jahr model looks good and is scarce ... the third one, a Minolta CL seems overpriced but might just need a clean to make it work?? dunk
