Howdy,

It looks like the Summilux Steel Rim reissue has a front cap for the naked lens, but no front cap wich can be used when the lens hood is mounted.
Is there an appropriate front cap available or how do you deal with this?

Specifically, I would prefer to have a front cap for the classical rectangular lens hood, not for the ollux lens hood.

As I did not find a hood, I just designed and printed one with my 3D printer, using semi-flexible TPU filament. I think this will satisfy my needs, even though the front side could be more glossy, like the side walls. But this is unavoidable, as this side faced the printing bed.

Inner side, the notches prevent the lens cap from falling off:

Good job! The notches are a good idea, but I've found TPU caps can be made to fit quite tightly and still "give" enough to pull off easily, with careful dimensioning. It's amazing how accurate these printed plastic parts can be.

Thanks! You are right - the notches are actually not strictly necessary. The first version without notches was fitting tightly enough, but as I messed up the first layer in the printing process due to residuals of the filament previously used, I combined the reprinting with this slight modification. Making assurance double sure. 😉
