fotografr Posted May 10, 2024 Share #1  Posted May 10, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) I should have titled this image, "Damn Art Directors." Lisa is a friend who started an organization that is affiliated with the local Audibon Society. It's called "Save Our Songbirds," with the acronym SOS. A local monthly publication decided to do a story about her and the decline in songbirds, so Lisa asked me to do a photo of her to submit for the story. We spent a fair amount of time at our local botanical gardens and this was our favorite shot. We submitted it and the story was printed a week ago. The brilliant Art Director decided to drop the background out, crop the image and run it as a head shot. I'm reminded by this how glad I am that I'm retired and don't have to deal with this anymore. Lelmer Posted May 10, 2024 Share #2  Posted May 10, 2024 (edited) The good news is that we got here the original one 🙂 Very little detail...I would have turned the mug a bit in order to read "Save our Songbirds" Edited May 10, 2024 by Lelmer

I noticed that when I was editing the images but by then it was too late. 😟
Bateleur Posted May 12, 2024 Share #4  Posted May 12, 2024 Pity the "art director" spoilt the intention of the photo, for this is a lovely and characterful version. 1
Almizilero Posted May 12, 2024 Share #5 Â Posted May 12, 2024 Given the story surrounding the photo it is quite ridiculous what the art director did. I maybe understand cropping, but taking the background out? Glad we got to see the full version. 2

David The comment was made in the context of the story explained by Brent. Otherwise, I am pretty sure the mug wouldn't be present 😉
