ho_co Posted May 8, 2024 Share #1 Posted May 8, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) Around the time of R3 or R4, the parent company (Leitz Wetzlar IIRC) produced for international distribution a very solid transparent ruler. It included both photo and micro products and if I'm not mistaken, also both Leitz and Leica logos on an embedded strip of film. It was a nice piece, solid, colorful, and illustrating the range of the company's products. The thing that made it stand out to users of the Imperial System was the fact that the European designers hadn't decided to include the inch markings to 12 inches. So we had a ruler that measured up to 11-3/4 inches. The embedded filmstrip hasn't held up as well as the ruler itself. Below a photo made on 8 May 2024 of the current condition of one such ruler, which will bring smiles to those who remember this Leica Ruler that didn't quite hit the mark. Welcome, dear visitor!
