One of these or a third party strap? If it's the original, I've never seen one rusted up - hopefully that's not a sign of poor storage or some adventure that might have affected the interior of the camera! I would definitely remove it before selling it. It lowers the value if anything. The value of your R4 is higher without a rusty strap. So no need to save the original strap.
