Wellsyboy Posted May 6, 2024 Share #1 Posted May 6, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) Why does my LCD live view on my Q3 NOT reflect the exposure that I have set - the live view and the recorded image are completely different. I have looked through all my settings - everything looks good. It does not seem to matter which metering I use the LCD view does not change when I change either the SS or the aperture. And before anyone asks I am NOT using Auto ISO. The meter at the bottom of the screen seems fairly reliable but I would like the brightness/darkness of the LCD screen live view to reflect the image that I am going to get with my particular exposure setting. Any help would be appreciated - I am sure I am probably missing something really simple.........

Anakronox Posted May 6, 2024 Share #2 Posted May 6, 2024 Is your exposure preview set to PAS instead of PASM? That’s what is sounds like.
SrMi Posted May 6, 2024 Share #3 Posted May 6, 2024 Do histograms look identical in LV and playback? Avoid using ISO 50.

M11 for me Posted May 6, 2024 Share #5 Posted May 6, 2024 What brightness do you have in your examples? Is it quite dark or very bright. There are indeed situations where the image in the viewfinder does not correspond with the final image. Spontaneously I cannot recall these situations but I remember that during test phase of the Q3 I experieced that in some cases.
maikellermann Posted May 7, 2024 Share #6 Posted May 7, 2024 The behavior of the LCD seems to be normal. See Manual page 116.
