Dr. G Posted April 15, 2024 Share #1  Posted April 15, 2024 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) I never noticed this happening before, so I'm wondering if I accidentally changed a setting somewhere. If I setup my SL3 to have AFs on the joystick press, when I press the shutter my exposure automatically gets raised and the histogram changes from where I have everything dialed in to a new historgam showing a brighter exposure (everything shifts to the right). If I set the joystick press to AFs and Exposure Lock together this doesn't happen. But why is the exposure changing from where I have it set to when I press the shutter if I don't set the joystick to lock the exposure in a situation where I am still looking at the exact same scene I metered for? My scene isn't changing from where I framed it and set everything. SrMi Posted April 15, 2024 Share #2 Â Posted April 15, 2024 (edited) Could you please share more information: - what is your exposure setting when that happens (including ISO)? - are you shooting in MF mode? - how much does the exposure change when you half-press the shutter? - which PASM mode are you using?
