Leica SL3 joystick press issues

Greetings, my new SL3 arrived yesterday (upgrading from SL601). Love the camera so far, but I’ve noticed that sometimes the joystick press doesn’t get recognised. This happens both when browsing menus as well as during magnification with manual focus lenses. I would say 10-20% of my joystick presses are ignored. Has anyone else experienced this?

Nope. My 2x cameras are both fine. If you have the latest firmware (1.1) already loaded than I'd be having your store look at it.

I had the same symptoms with the joystick of my SL2-S, had to be replaced, luckily it was still under warranty.

Got a response that it is treated as out of box faulty and I will get a replacement.

My SL3 shows the exact same behavior. When using the downwards direction, it is sometimes not recognized. I also find the „click“ rather soft compared to the upward direction.

Ing_rippi,   This isn't normal.  If new, I suggest you get it swapped out by the dealer...or send it back for service and ask for a loaner.  The first option is the best one.  r/ Mark

No issues with my SL3 joystick.

I did receive my SL3 replacement and the joystick is fine on that one.

Congrats!  Glad to hear that worked out.  Also impressed they were able to get you a replacement SL3 so quickly with the stock constraints they are currently facing.  Looking forward to seeing images!

I find that when I press it to focus, very often the focus point moves south.
