An overpriced brass soft release had fallen off my M10M as I crossed the street at night near the small boutique run by Ibi. The next day my wife and I were in the vicinity again so I decided to look around for it. Ibi saw us looking and came out to ask if she could help us find something, but I explained that it was tiny, probably in the street somewhere and likely long gone, so she went back into her shop. I was just about to give up and was walking across the street to catch up with my wife when I looked down and saw it pounded into the asphalt, screw end down. It was completely battered, having been run over multiple times, but I was able to dig it out and the threads still worked. I went back into Ibi's shop to show her and we had a brief chat about photography and my camera. I asked if she'd like to have a quick portrait and she was delighted to pose. I only shot six frames but this was the first and the only one I needed. I've already sent her a copy and got a very nice reply.

And BTW, it is the first time I hear about your method for ageing stuff...😂

😁 Not recommended. My wife was yelling at me from the other side of the street because the light had changed and cars were headed toward me.
