I can't get more than 1/8000 on my SL. I have tried every setting, manual lenses and AF lenses and all the modes and it just gets stuck at 1/8000 sec. Selecting Hybrid and or Electronic shutters wont go higher than 1/8000 sec. Maybe it's something in the settings however in 2-3 months of this camera it's never shot art 1/16000 or higher than 1/8000 sec. I get clipped images at maximum shutter of 1/8000.

This looks like a bug on SL3. I confirm that in A mode, the camera cannot reach 1/16000; it can only be in M or S mode. SL2 can use 1/16000 in A mode. Could you please report it?

Dear All,

I'm a Quality Manager at Leica Camera. I want to confirm the current situation.

This issue is a little more complicated, and has two aspects. But first the actual, implemented, specification: The S/M mode supports up to 1/16000s exposure time, while P/A mode only up to 1/8000s (the reason is shutter restrictions in combination with steering algorithm).

The two issues:

1) We have a overexposure bug with setting 1/8000s in P and A mode, which will be fixed with next FW update (v2.0.0).

2) We added a new feature request to also add 1/160000s to P/A mode, which will need more time/ressources to implement because of the need to ensuring that the updated algorithm has no side effects. Target is later updates (v3.0.0).

Best regards,

Thank you Matthius for this update on the "shutter bug".
