Could someone help to explain what is the :  iDynamic setting for?  How should I set it on the D-Lux 7?

Should it be left on OFF, or set at LOW, STANDARD, HIGH?  Or should it be set on AUTO?

What is the disadvantage or advantage that if I leave the "iDynamic" setting on the "OFF" ?

Thank you in advance for your info!

I think iDynamic refers to how much detail is in the brightest parts and in the shadow detail. I think file size in capture is affected. Why not try the highest setting on one shot and the lowest in a second frame of 'same scene', then down load to a computer and open in a photo program and analyse which is better for you.

Does the Hi slow down the cameras function, like you may need 'fast' in a sports action photo ?

Another consideration may be how important is the shot ? Is it a quick vacation photo or a shot for a client ?

If you were to download the .pdf file, then it is easy (as I have just discovered) to search for a term such as 'i.Dynamic'.

Yes, Keith 🙏 ,  although the menu does not tell or explain the pro/con of turning on the "iDynamic",  or which level should it be put on, or the Pro/Con of keeping the "iDynamic" setting on "OFF" ?
