White-backed Vultures (Gyps africanus) Zuka Game Reserve S Africa- highly endangered, there's been an overall decline in all Vulture populations of approx. 75% over the past 40 years, mainly due to poisoning.

SL3 & Sigma DG DN 500mm f5.6  -the Canon 400mm f4 DOII is now sold. I'm astounded at how light the Sigma is & its IQ appears to be equal to the Canon.  I still need to play around some more.....

Conclusion: SL-3 + all Lenses + AddOn Pana S-5-II are great for available light,  I don´t care about ISO up to 12500.....  (if I don´t loose pics)

The Milky Way, I presume.   Very nice, what length of exposure did you use? And what sort of mount?

I like the standard jpeg out of camera. I love how light the SL3 is with TL lenses.

Hi Electric Man, Hi Slender

this was 16-35 mm, 16mm wide open (with not very wide f3.5), iso 6400 and 15s shutter speed. I just used a normal tripod. At that time milky way was just above me. So that was a time when you really appreciate sl3 flip screen. Also very important to switch enhance live view. What it is doing is showing you the screen on highest iso just to be able to manually focus on stars. That was actually more problem for me on 21 mm Apo. As focusing there on stars was pain in a$$.

Sometimes I used iso 8000, as for me limit is 15s, after you start to see more star movement, but Sl3 is high iso monster. Also I didn't switch noise reduction, what is recommendation of most of astro photographers, but most I just find on camera noise reduction better. Also ibs should be switched off.

Photo was made in Atacama dessert. And I should have bought Sigma 14 mm lens for that. This is my first experience with this kind of photography.

Also I tried to do a few pano like this (but should have done better job with foreground):

You've done a great job already.  The images are stunning considering the fact you didn't apply the noise reduction.

What focal length did you use?  Was there focus stacking?
