If you mean that there is a gap between the RH button on the thumb support and the F2 button on the camera,

a) Is the shank of the support straight and at right angles to the bit that goes into the "flash bracket"?

b) Can you make it work by gluing a piece of card on one of the F2 buttons, with non-permanent glue that can be removed cleanly?

Mine seems to go a little further into the flash adaptor than yours.

Maybe is has got bent somehow? Certainly doesn't look right. Is your dealer an official Leica dealer?

I agree with you and understand that you are upset. But would you not wait for the answer of Leica as you wrote that the dealer was contacting Leica. If you are right with your complaint then there is no doubt that Leica will exchange it.

If it were me I would proceed as follows: I would send that part back immediately as it does not work properly. Its not about wether or not the dealer wants to take it back. As you describe your issue that part is not right.

You get no satisfaction here in the forum. This is not a question to be discussed. It either works or it does not. And you can use your warranty.

Mine sits flush with the camera. Something is off with yours. Just ask to get a 1:1 replacement immediately, I don't get this "contacting Leica Support" for a piece of metal. It's not like you need a highly specialized Leica engineer to dig into a complex problem.

I have noticed with mine that if I put pressure on the thumb grip at the point of the thumb grip the whole unit gets dragged out from the hot shoe and away from the function buttons - it happens more so when I am using the handgrip but having to constantly reposition it is becoming a little irritating........

They bend quite easily.  At least the original Leica one does.  I have the brass one.  In any event, if it doesn't fit what kind of stupid place did you buy it from that won't replace it (regardless of what Leica says)?

I'm wondering if this was a user error situation. Looking at the image, it's clear there's a gap along the entire length of the thumb support, leading me to believe it was not fully inserted into the hot shoe.

I have a black one. Unless it "fell off the back of a lorry", I dont think it is a "Leica original", as it was much cheaper. It will not bend unless you force it, which I am not going to do. It fits perfectly. I did suggest, in message #4 of this thread, that the problem one being discussed in this thread was not going into the hot shoe as far as mine does. This may be because of something in the way that shouldnt be. Maybe a bit of extra material on the grip hits the front of the hot shoe slot too early. A small file might solve the problem.

The dealer doesn't want to change it without Leica Agreement ...

You are right but my dealer doesn't want to change it because they don't have in stock ...

Mine looks ever so slightly narrower. Mine has flex. I think I could bend it a bit.
