Advertisement Posted March 7, 2024 Posted March 7, 2024 Hi ALScott, Take a look here Amazon order. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
phoenix96 Posted March 7, 2024 Share #2 Posted March 7, 2024 There aren't any Q3s there that aren't part of an overpriced bundle are there?
ALScott Posted March 7, 2024 Author Share #3 Posted March 7, 2024 Overpriced but camera only.
ksrhee Posted March 8, 2024 Share #4 Posted March 8, 2024 All of them are through 3rd-party, not Amazon. These folks are taking advantage of the current situation. Do not pay more than the list price, $5995.

When the alert comes up on your phone be ready to buy it, you will only have a short time before it is gone.

When it's 3rd parties many times they are not authorized Leica dealers and may be gray market products.
ALScott Posted March 8, 2024 Author Share #8 Posted March 8, 2024 What is grey market and how do you know?
SrMi Posted March 8, 2024 Share #9 Posted March 8, 2024 Research the seller before buying. Some sellers collect money and never ship. If you are willing to pay over MSRP, you may be better off buying on eBay from a trustworthy seller than on Amazon.
ALScott Posted March 8, 2024 Author Share #10 Posted March 8, 2024 I got it today and trying to decide if there is an issue after stumbling on comments on the web. It came with a lens hood and a lens cap, is it supposed to? I was under the impression they didn't but I have no idea. Does that mean anything? The battery is wrapped in plastic that has never been opened. Everything in the box looks like others I have seen opened on YouTube. It looks untouched like any new camera I have ever bought. Gray market is when the it came from a different region than the buyer. For example if you are in the US and the camera came from a distributor in the UK. Normally in a case like that Leica USA will not support or warranty the camera. I don't see what Leica's policy is relating to gray market products, but other makers won't even fix a gray market camera for money. The label on the box can give a clue as to region the camera was meant for.. Leica can tell by serial number.

ALScott Posted March 8, 2024 Author Share #13 Posted March 8, 2024 I have poured over the thing all bits that come with it and see nothing the least bit suspicious. I did overpay but we are going on a trip next week and I am impatient. Once I decide on something I want it to happen. Plus, at this MSRP what's a few more dollars to be happy? Pindy Posted March 8, 2024 Share #14 Posted March 8, 2024 I just got one three days ago from a Leica Store so don’t give up hope.

Hey, do you mind sharing what seller you bought from? Trying to find a safe seller to buy from.
andybarton Posted March 19, 2024 Share #16 Posted March 19, 2024 Why not order/buy from a Leica dealer directly? My local dealer in Manchester UK usually ships in 10 days.
JNK100 Posted March 20, 2024 Share #17 Posted March 20, 2024 It would be unlikely to have a Leica warranty and therefore a mistake. Why on earth would anyone but a cera like that on Amazon?
Mikep996 Posted March 20, 2024 Share #18 Posted March 20, 2024 Amazon will refund in full/take anything back immediately if you are not happy with the product. I wouldn't worry about that aspect at all. Paying more than you should is a different issue.
bobtodrick Posted March 20, 2024 Share #19 Posted March 20, 2024 (edited) And from a dealers point of view. I'm a huge fan of Amazon...for stuff I know I am not going to need after sales service...probably not going to need help learning to turn the pages of a book 😝 But honestly...when you come in with your camera that you bought on Amazon and are having trouble figuring it out...we will help you, but the person who actually bought from us gets better service. For example...you bought from us and your camera is going to be serviced...gone for a bit...we'll try and help you with a loaner. A camera you got from Amazon...nada. Indeepthought Posted March 20, 2024 Share #20 Posted March 20, 2024 Over the years I have bought lots of high end items from Amazon, watches, lenses, cameras (other than Leica). Leica cameras are imho best bought from a Leica dealer.. Lenses, batteries and most other items:- Amazon or generally on the web.. I had a Nikon camera (brand new) that stopped working on day 1, the Nikon store in Vegas were most helpful, they recognized the issue but couldn't fix it, so they offered me good price on my faulty Nikon body and I bought a new body and another lens due to the excellent service..
