New Dual Charger from Leica for the BP-SCL4/SCL6

Yes, it seems like it's $299 Canadian as well. Obviously it's much more expensive than the nitecore, and much bigger, but has some nice features, such as USB-c, and dual battery capabilities. I'm going to order one as soon as it's available.

It says it wants a 27W power source, I assume that means it can go up to that with two batteries on the charger.

Yeah - I just saw that - not sure where I got the £320 from now - picked one up from a dealer for £135 yesterday - was about to re-post when I saw your post!!

I noticed later there is also a USB-C package deal for £320 including AC adapter, cable and extra battery along with the dual charger.

Just checked, the BC-SCL6 goes for € 155 from Leica Store Amsterdam. Just ordered one, will give me the option of charging my second battery from an Anker power bank on the go. This way 2 BP-SCL6 batteries will suffice for me, even on an intensive day of shooting.

Wonder how many cars/vehicles have USB-C charging that puts out at least 27W, which is the wattage that Leica mentions is needed?

Then it would be the best on the road charging to date, i.e., with being able to charge 2 batteries simultaneously.

I must check mine.

Wow, just checked my vehicles owner manual and my 110V outlet will take up to 150 watts. YES!

Is the dual charger supposed to charge 2 batteries simultaneously of sequentially. I just recieved one of the new dual chargers and with two batteries inserted only one battery at a time is charging.

It should charge simultaneously. What kind of power adapter do you have it connected to? You might not be supplying enough power for simultaneous charging.

Thank you. With a higher powered charger, unit charged two batteries simultaneously.

The Nitecore charger will work fine, as long as the BP-SCL6 battery has had its initial charge in the BC-SCL4 Leica charger. I don't know if the battery is 'micro-chipped' or not, but I found this to be the case for all four of my Leica BP-SCL6 batteries

This Anker power bank. It works as advertised: it delivers enough power to operate the camera and simultaneously charge a battery in-camera. And it can handle charging two batteries with the BC-SCL6. I never tried if it's able to power both the camera and the charger at the same time.

I have to confess that in the mean time I bought a third battery to get me through an intense street-photography day. I didn't like messing around with the charger while on-the-go and the charger took way too much space in my little bag (Think Tank Turnstyle 10 V2.0).

Ok, thanks! I had this kind of batterij pack in mind. I have no need of plugging it into the camera and charging at the same time. Just looking for a battery pack to charge my spare batteries. (I do wedding photography, so long days and need extra energy. 😅)

Be aware that in my experience the Anker 10 Ah power bank has a capacity of about 1.5 full charges of a BP-SCL6. In your case you might want to go for a bigger power bank, as small size and low weight might not be as important to you.
