Hello, I own a Leica Q camera and lately I've been struggling with moiré patterns appearing on the sky, walls or background. I'm aware that the Leica Q doesn't have a low-pass filter, but I find it odd that this problem occurs especially with skies or backgrounds - I thought it might happen with a fabric like a sweater, for example.
I am adding a screenshot of a zoomed-in photo where moiré is visible - The issue gradually becomes apparent as I zoom in on the photo. I can't see the moiré when the photo is zoomed out.
Thank you very much for all the explanations, advice, tips, and tricks.

I don’t think this is moiré, which is an interference pattern, which just shouldn’t happen in smoke, but I can’t explain it otherwise. What were the exposure settings (including ISO) and have you done much post processing? Is this a jpg from the camera or an edited dng? How many pixels across is this zoomed in image?

I think it is caused by over-processing underexposed JPGs.

iso100, f/4, 1/1000s - edited dng - basic adjustments.
I think its 150% crop

Nope, I shoot only in raw. Basic corrections (+contast, -lights and whites, +5 clarity and textures, sharpening on 60 and  +dehaze).

That is what I would normally do, too. Can you still show out if cam?

I don't see anything like that in the original, which might be because the original is in color. i dont know. :D

May I ask some other questions:

1) What programme do you use for processing?

2) How did you export your first image? Did you take a screen shot or is it an export and with what settings? Where dies the black line on the bottom come from?
