MikeD70 Posted December 11, 2023 Share #1 Posted December 11, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) Did I miss something along the way? I was reading about an upgrade program for Leica camera's, including the Q3. The price tag on this process was like purchasing a new camera. Can anyone explain this program/problem with some of Leica's sensors? Thanks in advance. jdlaing Posted December 11, 2023 Share #2 Posted December 11, 2023 It’s a trade in program. Not a sensor upgrade.
Overgaard Posted December 11, 2023 Share #3 Posted December 11, 2023 Leica Camera will occasionally offer you to upgrade if they cannot fix the camera you send in for repair. The Leica M9 (2009) and Leica M Monochrom (2012), for example, they do not have any sensors in case the camera sensor corrode and should be replaced. So they will offer to trade in the defect camera and give a discount on a newer model, usually a $2,000 discount, which should be equivalent to the value of the camera you let them keep.
