Colour or black and white version?

I like the colour one most because of the skin tone and warm tones of the doormat and leaves.

Mono works better for me.

With the colour, my eyes are drawn to the red elements in the image and away from the child.

The color one works best, there is not much color in that one anyway. So the parts that are colored help IMO

They both work nicely, but I like the color one best.

I like the color...the whole image, even in color is quite monochromatic...the color of the child and the flowers really stands out.

I definitely like the coloured version better, as it also has b&w elements, which adds interest.

The color version is better in this case as it is very monochromatic in presentation making the color of the child's face a delightful surprise.   Of course, free opinions are worth exactly what you pay for them, but I think in this case a full-width square crop would strengthen the image by cutting out all of the other color details, and the top and bottom of the door, reducing the image to vertical and horizontal monochrome lines, and the child with nothing to distract the eye.   YMMV

That would change the whole intention of the photo. I do not mind cropping at all, but that would be too much I think. since it is not a failed composition as it is.
