1/2 size Replica of Lhasa

A worthwhile destination, too! Was there in the 1980s, before it became a UNESCO world heritage site.

Wow, I'm not sure you'd recognize much, except the old city. here's a few shots of some the newer developments.

I am surprised that you are surprised!  Owners realize what rare gems they possess and have no desire to sell them for a paltry trade-in allowance.

Not all owners David, I could not wait to get rid of mine so have not regretted taking the financial drop

I am disappointed to read your verdict. Of course the CL is not perfect.  No system is. But it has a balance of advantages unmatched by any competitor, taking into account performance, weight and bulk. How else do you explain the dearth of examples to buy?

Before even reading this thread, I had thought about adding another CL body to my stable, I was somewhat shocked at the going prices and lack of availability (used)- 🍷

Hardly surprising - after the shock of no CL2 owners are hanging on to it and could not contemplate selling. Whatever Leica's reasoning, from the owners' point of view it still is the optimal compact Leica and a true continuation of Barnack's philosophy: small camera, great photographs.

Different strokes for different folks. You're pretty unique.

I saw some urban masterplans of Chengde about eight years ago, but it was nothing like what you show here. Those apartment blocks could be anywhere, and probably should be anywhere else than here.

Probably not meant in that way, but thanks Jaapv I will take it as a compliment ! Don

It was meant in a friendly way. It is just that very few CL owners are unhappy.

Yeah, late to the party - I remember the trying moments when I was spending the money on the CL bundle (when the lens was basically free) vs. more fuji crap...   Had both in my cart at B&H...   Although I do NOT regret my time with Fuji - I'd LOVE to have that decision over again....  Now that I have the TL2 - and soon all that Fuji crap will swap out for an SL (no SL2s for me - have S1 and literally don't use 94.3% of it - to quantify it LOL), but in the back of my mind...   Over the last 24 months I scoured the likes of FB, eBay, etc - and perhaps I'm just not that sharp - but seemingly anyone who bought the CL when the lens was bundled is now selling the body for a couple hundred more and pocketing the lens...   Nowadays - with TL2 (and RX1) I'm headed for an SL -  and thankfully - as watching for near two years (and trying not to kick myself for buying fuji glass vs the CL bundle), was NOT fun.  For anyone 'scouting' for one - know that I understand the frustration and wish you luck.

To me! I’m keeping the lot as I can’t find anything that comes close to performance, size and weight. Should Leica ever consider making an SL-K then I might reconsider.
